About Mary

Mary K. Buckley

Mary's love affair with real estate and interior design is reflected in Dunraven River House. In early 2020, after a long quest for the perfect investment property, Mary bought the historic 1850s cabin in Margaretville, NY, because of its charm and character. With a strong desire to share the home’s beauty with others, Mary dove headfirst into learning about the great western Catskills and forging a short-term rental business.

Admittedly, Mary knew little about the western Catskills, having dedicated her search closer to the Hudson River. However, since purchasing the house in April 2020, at the beginning of the pandemic, she has explored the picturesque mountains, connected with local businesses, and discovered the communities that make the region so special.

With nearly two decades of professional work in marketing and communications in both the corporate and higher education sectors, Mary leverages her skills to engage potential guests and scale her co-hosting management business. She loves to share the many ways in which travelers can fill their days in Delaware County and beyond. With a focus on exceptional customer service, she wants guests to think of Dunraven as their ideal home in the mountains.

Mary is a reality TV enthusiast and particularly enjoys “The Traitors,” Real “Housewives of Orange County” and “Summer House.” She is always up for a trip to visit family or friends, whether down the road or across the country and will travel an even greater distance for the perfect vintage find. However, at the end of the day, New York is home. Born and raised in Geneva, NY, and a longtime resident of Brooklyn, she now calls the Catskills home.
